This year, the National Day of Prayer will be held for the Greater Gardner area on Thursday, May 4, noon to 1 p.m., at the Monument Park Bandstand on Central Street, Gardner. Please plan to come and bring a friend and a lawn chair or blanket.

The theme for 2017 is “For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us… Forgive Us…Heal Us!”. From the NDOP website: “Scripture tells us again and again that our fervent prayer is effective. That our loving God responds to His children’s earnest pleas in mighty ways that avail much, and ultimately determine the course of history. At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing more important than pray.” In case of rain, it will be held at Higher Ground Ministries across from the park.

CarenetThe Care♥Net Pregnancy Resource Center Fund Drive begins on Mother’s Day, May 14, this year with the distribution of baby bottles. This Christian ministry helps women choose to keep their unborn children rather than abort them. If you are willing, please take one of the baby bottles available in the Narthex on Mother’s Day and fill it with any spare change you may have during the next month. Any donation is welcome! We will collect the bottles on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 11. Thank you for your compassion and donation.
