National Day of Prayer – May 4
This year, the National Day of Prayer will be held for the Greater Gardner area on Thursday, May 4, noon to 1 p.m., at Higher Ground Ministries, 186 Central Street, Gardner. Please plan to come and bring a friend and a lawn chair or blanket. This year’s theme is “unity” and takes as its text Ephesians 4:3: “Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Visit the National Day of Prayer website here.
“Many hands make light work!” Join us as we clean and clear and paint classrooms and other parts of the church. 9:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m., a light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The Care♥Net Pregnancy Resource Center Fund Drive begins on Mother’s Day, May 13, this year with the distribution of baby bottles. This Christian ministry helps women choose to keep their unborn children rather than abort them. If you are willing, please take one of the baby bottles available in the Welcome Center on Mother’s Day and fill it with any spare change you may have during the next month. Any donation is welcome! We will collect the bottles on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17. Thank you for your compassion and donation.
Anyone who is learning or experienced in any needle art is welcome to participate. We meet from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the 2nd floor lounge and enjoy great fellowship as we create scarves and hats for several different charities, as well as work on our own projects.
