Unreached Peoples — The ZaZa of Central Turkey
The 1.2 million Zaza, also called the Dimli, are Muslim, with their own brand of Kurdish Islam. They have a distinct dialect, follow Shiite religious traditions, and are seen as heretics by the Sunni Kurds. There is a need for scripture and other language-based resources in their own language. Gospel radio broadcasts are helpful, but sustained prayer is needed for the Zaza-Dimli. This is a particularly dangerous time now in Turkey as ISIS attacks on Shiite Muslims are increasing.
