Unreached Peoples — The ZaZa of Central Turkey
The Zaza are Kurdish Muslims. Population estimates vary, but there may be as many as 3 Million Zaza in the world today. Zaza are still mostly found in Turkey. Probably fewer than 50 followers of Jesus exist among the Zaza worldwide, and there are no local Zaza churches anywhere. But serious organized missions efforts to evangelize and disciple Zaza people are underway in the German diaspora, in Istanbul, Turkey, and indigenously in scattered Turkish cities and towns , mostly in Turkey’s southeast region. Major Turkish cities where known Zaza believers in Jesus are hidden away include Istanbul, Elazig, Erzumrum and Diyarbakir.
